Other Facts and Activities

  • There are over 50,000 Texas Exes in the Houston area.

  • The Houston Texas Exes provide 30+ scholarships annually to Houston area students.

  • In early 1998, we reached our goal of a $1,000,000.00 endowment as a permanent commitment to scholarships for outstanding Houston area high school graduates who attend UT-the first Texas Exes Chapter to have a $1,000,000 endowment. As of 2001, it surpassed the $1,000,000 goal and is now just over $2,000,000.00 including funds held with the athletic department for scholarships.

  • In 2002-03 the Houston Texas Exes pledged $115,000.00 to the Jamail Challenge Grant. The Chapter has funded that $115,000.00 commitment. The Jamail fund will match the pledged amount dollar for dollar, for a total amount of $230,000, the earnings of which will be used for full scholarships for minority students. The Chapter is excited about this new pledge and challenge.
